Coming from a 2012-ish HD Samsung TV, I see a night and day difference in picture quality. The built-in speakers are also so much better. Completely happy with the video and audio. However, I have had to keep the TV disconnected from the Internet because, whenever it is connected and turned on, the modem will lose Internet connectivity every 5-60 minutes. I have tried wired and wireless, and they both cause the same issue. I have also tried using a static IP, but that doesn t help. Disconnecting it from the router allows the Internet to stay up. Samsung support has not been very helpful so far. They believe my network devices are the issue, even though this is only a problem when this TV is connected. ve never left a review before, but I m leaving this in hopes that other people can chime in on if they have the same issue. If so, I ll suspect this is a firmware issue. Otherwise, I ll attempt replacing the TV. I got the TV replaced through Amazon and the new one causes the same network issues as the first one UPDATE 2 It turns out my network problems were due to my modem. After getting a new one from my ISP, the network issues went away.

I LOVE this tv. It is the 75inch. Has 4k. Native 120hz refresh rate. All I love. Probably the best picture you can get besides finding a tv with way more local dimming zones this tv having like 48. Dark rich blacks crisp auto-motion (240hz) compared to others Samsung 4ks I have had before It has auto game mode...which I thought would mess up sometimes but has been flawless so far about 40 hours of viewing since I got it 3 days ago (it was my long weekend off and a new tv so I was gonna enjoy it) Basically everything about the tv looks great! The downside now. The software is so clunky. To turn on or off features in the menu you have to hit home and then scroll 6 spaces to the left to get to settings. The tv is fast at doing it but really? Once you get it dialed in I think it is perfect and you dont need to do it again. Audio syncing is terrible, when you first get it. It took quite a bit to get it dialed really close to what i need. Also the ability to place inputs on the quick menu is a real help. As long as that item isnt a pc that you plug in and out all the time like a portable gaming laptop. The tv suggests you pin the computer input to the hot bar each time you replug in the computer from having it taken away from any input at anytime. Things i wish they would fix. Have a better controller. Voice one is cool and all but i want to hit one button or voice to turn on or off gamemode I really really like the tv. the bad stuff are things i got annoyed with when i first got it. and i havent had to mess with them since but if you mess with that stuff all the time i can see how that can be annoying all the time. OMG HDR on this tv makes the picture look like it is happening in your house. keep intelligent picture on, keep game mode set to auto, set the audio lag for each input. That is it. The tv will probably never bother you again. i haven t changed any settings yet after that second day, i was all over the place this last day. Everything seemed perfect.

I bought this TV because it supposed to perform well in bright rooms. During daylight hours the picture quality is outright POOR. The screen also has excessive glare during bright light. Once the sun goes down and the room brightness lowers this TV really shows excellent picture quality.

m a big display nerd, so I ll go into a bit of detail. This TV has incredibly rich and accurate color, pre-calibrated almost perfectly with no hint of color banding when viewed at the appropriate distance. Gamma was easy to adjust to get near-perfect. Range of brightness and contrast is also great. Backlight is not 100 uniform on the top middle but you can only notice that in a pitch black room. This TV actually looks best in a darkened room with some fully dimmed accent lighting, rather than a pitch black room. Game mode is fantastic. This is the best TV on the market to use for a console or PC monitor in my opinion. I was able to hook up my gaming PC and every one of my games looked fantastic with incredibly low latency. There are a great number of options for reducing judder and other motion artifacts. I thought my DISH Network Hopper 3 was not going to look particularly great on this TV due to the source quality being quite bad, but I was able to get it to intelligently upscale the 1080i content to look great in 4k, and used various options to make motion for 24hz sources look like they would in a classic movie theater. Both new old movies look fantastic even when upscaled from a 1080i source. There is no flicker on this display at all. There are options to strobe the backlight which can look great for certain types of content. This works in regular mode and also in Game mode if you look at the right options. This is similar to ULMB and other anti-flicker, anti-ghosting, blur-busting technologies used in gaming monitors. Great built-in sound. I was going to purchase a soundbar or satellite speakers and a subwoofer, but the sound on this TV is much better than the competing manufacturers or other similar Samsung models. A really full, rich sound with absolutely no distortion, though I took extreme care to make sure no part of the mounting solution I used could cause any reverberation or rattle. I still might end up getting a subwoofer, but the out-of-the-box bass is actually pretty good even without one. I do not use any of the built-in video apps. I bought a separate AndroidTV box, and Amazon Prime and Disney look fantastic when played in 4k on this TV using my Nvidia Shield Android TV. Pixar movies (WALL-E especially), Marvel movies, and the later seasons of The Expanse and other Amazon Prime originals look amazing in 4k. I wish there was more 4k UHD movie content to purchase to try out on this TV. I bought this TV based off the rtings.com review and I have never been more satisfied with a large purchase.

Take every review with a grain of salt that only a small percentage of people actually take the time to write reviews and so you usually get the extremes be it both good and bad. - Outstanding picture quality - Life-like smoothness in gaming and movies - Fantastic app support with quick loading of each app - Impressive ease of use - None so far My Q80T came today in a pristine box and packaging. Unpacking was made simple and instructions are provided on the top of the box flap. Stand was quick to put together and within 10 minutes had the TV plugged in and going through setup. Bought this TV with the intent to use for family movie night and the new Playstation 5. I have not unpacked the PS5 yet so this review was done with some gameplay in the PS4 which is superb so far. I upgraded from a 4 year old Vizio M Series 55 (lowest model with HDR) and wow was this a huge upgrade. This is my first TV over 600 that I ve purchased and wow what a difference. The Q80T is lightning quick to turn on and load apps compared to the Vizio which struggled. The app selection won the wife over with its built in install ability for HBO Max, Funimation, Disney , Pandora, and all the other favorites. The only native apps it was missing from our daily use is Crunchyroll and Formula1TV which I don t know of any other TV s that support either of those yet. We have the TV hooked up to a Samsung RX-V385 receiver with 5.1 sound via HDMI 3 (ARC). A quick enablement on the receiver and the TV for eARC and the system was all complete with stunning quality. The 10 year old s reaction to loading up Spider-Man for the PS4 and swing between buildings had his mouth open and more WOW s and WHOA s than I ve ever heard. The remote control is very simple and possibly even lacking some intuitive buttons but very quick and easy to learn. As far as reviews, I was skeptical of picking up the Q80T after reading about issues with rainbow waves in the filter, panel and quality control issues, and problems with dark rooms. My amazement with this TV was even blow greater after watching several dark and gritty movies in a pitch black room with no backlight bleed and amazing contrast and colors. My only remark is don t believe every bad review and give the Q80T a try before listening to everyone else.

The last TV I bought was a very good TV and I had yet to see anything that made me want a new TV. It was also a samsung but was a 2015 model. I received a great many compliments on that TV from guests who visited us. As a result, i was very skeptical when I started exploring other TV options. (the old TV still works fine but we are expanding so why not a new TV right?? lol) So by no means am I a must have the best TV kind of guy but I want a good tv. i did a ton of research as I usually do and came down to a choice between this, and LG Nano, and also the TCL offering in this same size. All had great reviews but I have been a loyal samsung owner for many years on many levels. So in thhe end brand loyalty won out. The LG nano was a little pricier when I was looking which was also a factor. Needless to say, this TV so far is amazing.. the picture is much improved, even over my last TV which i would not have guessed. The backlight technology in this model is really just that much better than 5 years ago and makes for a nice picture. I see details in some of the games I play that I did not see on my previous set. The menu i feel is much more intuitive, and the built in alexa is quite nice although does appear to need so tweaking. I love that it can load a different set of TV settings when i switch to my ps4 or nintendo switch. The apps it comes loaded with are exactly what wife and I needed. The samsung TV channels were an added bonus that i did not even realize came with it. It gives me the option to control my soundbar with the TV but again.. seems like this feature could use some work. It can t actually wake up my sound bar 90 of the time so I end up using the soundbar remote anyway. But I already had to do this with the old TV anyways so no loss really. As for sound... the sound on the base TV speakers was really not too bad... but I upgraded the optic sound cable for my sound bar and found out I had been missing out quite a bit.. lol All in all I really do love this TV so far and the best thing is, there is no one connect box like on my old set. That box was annoying.. and it died on me at the price tag of 100.00 to replace and the tv would not work without it.. so not having that is a plus in my book. anyway, in my opinion, another fabulous product from samsung. very satisfied at two to three weeks into using it.

Tv arrived fine. A half hour into initial set-up, I noticed a dead (black) pixel about 4 inches left-up from the center of the screen. Tried the standard unsticking pixel rigamarole, which didn t help. Got amazon support on the phone, and he had me try the same technique, which didn t work. He then got Samsung support on a 3-way call, and she had me run diagnostics which didn t help either. Amazon then agreed to a return and replacement. Other than that, the TV seemed to look decent and sounded better than the Insignia it was supposed to replace. I hadn t even gotten through all of the settings by the time I boxed it back up for UPS pickup, but I ll write more after the second TV arrives. Second unit has two dead pixels, but they re in corners and not visible from the couch this time. Even though I expect luxury items to be perfect, I can settle for this since it doesn t affect my viewing. Both shipped with the latest firmware, 1301.5. I have the problem some others have where settings will change by themselves. The tv is definitely not in retail mode and never has been. I can t figure out what makes the settings change by themselves, yet. I have noticed the dirty screen effect with light-colored moving scenes, but it s not often obvious nor very bad. Just noticeable. Sound is and has more bass than I m used to from my previous tv. Speech and sound effects are clear. I don t use any tv apps except Spotify, so I can t comment on any of those. Next I ll go over what I have connected and what settings I use. Initially I went with rting s recommended settings, and tailored them to my tastes. Overall, I m happy with the performance, picture quality, and sound quality - even with the strange changing settings quirk. Update 2: 11 20 with settings tweaked a bit and addition of PS5.

I bought this 85in. model because I never wanted to say I wish I had gotten the bigger one. . It is giant and you would expect the image to show every imperfection when the size of peoples heads are 3x to 4x larger than real life. Well the technology and performance this TV delivers is unbelievable. I see zero artifacts or image degradation. The 4K process combined with the 12x Arrays create an almost surreal image. When we watch shows we have seen before the video looks more like live images or you are looking through a window. The broadcast has to be pretty bad for the processor not to majorly improve the poor image. This would be something like a live news broadcast with someone on a poor Webex video feed or worse. The builtin audio speakers really superb with voices coming directly from who is talking and its ability to boost speak over background sounds. I just figured out how to connect my legacy Bose Sound System using the Optical out to an audio converter that takes optical in to RCA outs. Works fine but the TV speakers are so pure I switched back and will use this optical audio for movies with bigger than life sound. Later I will probably buy the matching Samsung soundbar system that has the wireless rear speaker option. So I forgot to mention the color is near perfect. The image quality is better than the feed. No motion artifacts or any other image imperfections I can detect. Great sound especially voices. Bigger than life image that seems more like your watching through a window. The only Con is the pathetic remote which Samsung needs to improve with direct buttons for functions so the hard to navigate remote is faster and quicker. Yes I know people usually use the cable box remote but changing inputs or setting should not be so tedious. Their Samsung SmartThings app is okay but could be better since its function is only basic with no programming guide access. Considering the Price Performance of this Model, I will be enjoying it for the next 10 years I am sure.

The picture is amazing. Much better than I had imagined. Clear, sharp almost surreal compared to my previous 50 inch tv. And the sound is great. I bought it more for the improved sound it has without having to use a sound bar or external speaker system and it hasn t disappointed. It actually fills the room with a near multi-speaker theater sound experience. But what I didn t expect was the the outstanding picture quality. Truly is a good investment if you watch a lot of TV and movies. Even makes ordinary network shows look better.

Bought specifically because it supported freesync for gaming and had good all-around ratings. - Fantastic picture quality at this price point - True 120hz panel - Due to judder-free 24p playback (YES!) - Very low input lag - HDR - HDMI 2.1 - eARC - Personally, I hate Samsung s OS for throwing ads in my face after dropping this much on their product - Menus are not well thought-out. Why should I need to traverse to a random menu under to adjust the HDMI black levels? All other settings are in the menu. Also, location of Game Mode settings is unintuitive. - Motion interpolation features, all of them, are garbage - Weirdly, you can only get judder-free 24p by turning on the Motion Clarity settings. However, by default it adds interpolation. You have to set it to Custom and then put the sliders for Blur Reduction and Judder Reduction to 0. WHY WHY WHY WHY? Not intuitive. - No DTS passthrough - Only one HDMI 2.1 input As a TV it looks great and my annoyances are mostly related to it s UI.
