Snippets - The Fast Paced, Anything Goes Word Game

Snippets is the fast paced anything goes word game! Perfect for a party or family game night, Snippets has been recommended by Mensa Mind Games and has won the 2017 Parents' Choice Gold Award as well as the TillyWig Top Fun award. It has also made it onto Dr. Toy's list of 100 Best Games of 2017 as well as Edo's Game Review's Top 10 Board Games of 2017!

A "snippet" is a short sequence of letters that can be found as a whole within one or more words. For example, the snippet IPP can be found in the words SNIPPETS, QUIPPED, and HIPPIE but not in SHIPSHAPE, PIPE, or HOPPING.

Players have 60 seconds to write down as many words as they can think of that contain each round's snippet. Anything goes! Dictionary words, people names, place names, brand names, fictional things, technical terms, slang, acronyms, abbreviations, contractions, hyphenations, non-english words, the snippet itself, and even plurals and alternate verb tenses are all allowed!

When time's up, players compare answers, earning points for unique words and fun bonuses. The player with the most points wins the round and the first to 3 rounds wins the game!

With its unique "anything goes" rule, Snippets isn't like most word games, requiring more of a creative mind than a large vocabulary. And with only 60 seconds to think, everyone’s answers will be equally hilarious.

I'm a big fan of this game. I've played a ton, and it's been really popular when I've brought it game nights. Game play is simple and intuitive but allows for a ton of creativity. The rules are clear but unrestrictive enough where everyone can be competitive without quibbling over rules. It also has enough ways to score points that there's some game theory to bring into game play. It's now my standard gift to friends that are into party games.

Amazing game. My husband and I can play this for hours

This game reminds me of a wordy scattergories (but better!) with several fun twists.

I bought this game through the kickstarter and it is our new go-to party game for all ages! Plays well with family but also ticks all the boxes for game nights with our 20-something aged crowd: relatively short play time (30ish minutes), high replay value, good for different skill levels, and still playable and fun with guests who have indulged in a beer or two.

My favorite thing about the game is that each round/snippet card is independent of the rest, so you can do very poorly one round and not completely damage your chances of winning. This, combined with the "bonuses" even out the playing field for players of different ages and/or skill levels.

My only minor criticism is that the box indicates a max of 8 players but only came with four paper pads. This is pretty nitpicky though and is easily remedied with extra paper. Really, I think the game is still playable with more than 8 people which is great when we have an especially large crowd over. Best with at least 3 people in my opinion.

Really fun game that rewards thinkers! I like that you can choose to play this game with different strategies -- you can blitz through and try to come up with the most words--- but someone who has taken their time and come up with less words, but smarter words, ultimately might end up coming out on top.

Reminds me of Scattergories, which is one of my favorite games, but this makes you use your brain in a different way.

Good difficulty range too--- some of the easy ones let you come up with tons of words, while some of the hard ones are really hard!

Everyone I've played with has really enjoyed the game, definitely will stay in my repertoire!

This is such a fun game and it's always a hit when I bring it to game night. In some ways, it's like Scrabble without the fussy restrictions on what words you can use. Because you play it in rounds, and each round is fast, it means that the game stays competitive. There's depth to the strategy that you pick up as you play it, too. Should you play every variation of a base word or come up with as much variety for the prompt Snippet?

If you love word games this is definitely the game for you!

I love finding new word games to play with our friends and family. This one is perfect.

My favorite part is that there are different levels of competitiveness you can decide to play. So in some groups you can play more relaxed (any word counts) or other times you can play super competitive and employ more rules.

I bought this game through Kickstarter. I have had so much fun playing it with family and friends. It's easy to learn and is a great party game!

I bought this game to play with my grandchildren, ages 10.12. and 13 years old. They loved it. Three generations played together and fun was had by all.

This is a great toy that is for all ages. My 9 year old daughter loves expanding on the prefixes and suffixes to develop lists of words. It allows her to practice spelling words that she knows and learn new words that she may not know while having fun!

I am not usually a word game player because I normally always lose but I LOVE this game. I can play with my whole family and even win sometimes. Everyone always has a fun time when we play and we never want to stop.
