WIsh I bought this sooner. Wish I wasn't such a cheapo! Could've saved myself a bunch of headaches and money spent buying other (less costly) bibs that my son hated wearing and still left his clothes a mess. This also makes a great paint smock and water smock! I don't know if its because it looks like a jacket, my som doesn't resist this- he has never tried to pull this off the way that he does bibs. The only thing that irritates him is the elastic on the cuffs. I have to either roll it back or pull his sleeves under it so he doesn't feel the elastic band. Probably he's just sensitive though- he doesn't like shirt tags or sweaters against his bare neck either.

We own five of these smocks. We started off with one when our child was about nine or ten months old. I loved it so much that I progressively added to our collection. Our child is now almost three years old. These smocks have been machine washed in cold on gentle cycle in mesh Woolite laundry bags and left hanging to air dry overnight more times than I can count, and they all are still in wonderful shape. The necks and wrists have held up wonderfully. We use these at every meal and with any snack that runs the risk of being even mildly messy. We also use the BabyBjorn bib over the smock--although I have a suspicion that my child will soon stop agreeing to wear the bibs. I hate to think of what my child's clothes would look like if we did not use these smocks. My child was one of those toddlers who managed to get food everywhere--including on her elbows and under her arms. We also use these as art smocks when we use finger paints, paint with water, and water colors. They are great for that purpose. I would qualify that only by saying that if you have a messy painter who is older and taller, this smock obviously won't cover all of the child's legs. My girl is about 40" tall, and she sometimes manages to get paint on herself from slightly above the knees and down. This isn't an issue for me because I change her into play bottoms before she paints.

I waited a really long time to buy this because it felt like a lot of money to pay for a smock. I regret waiting at all. It makes feeding time infinitely easier- I don't have to completely strip down my toddler anymore or spend hours trying to clean out stains. It's long enough to cover his lap beyond the highchair tray (if you don't use a tray, part of the legs will still be exposed for spills). The neck is high enough to cover his collar which used to get hit even with a bib. It's really easy to clean, and I'm no longer afraid to let my child feed himself goopy, staining foods! It's completely worth it and I wish I'd had it since he started solids. Later edit: We've now had this smock for about 2 years and it's barely showing signs of wear. I throw it in the laundry about once a week for a thorough cleaning and just wipe it down with a paper towel between meals. The best way to get it clean is to turn it inside out in the wash and then hang it over a chair. It will dry extremely fast and get really clean. If you don't turn it inside out, the sleeves have a hard time drying on the inside where the absorbent fabric is. We LOVE this smock and just ordered a second one for my daughter.

At around one and a half my grand baby started objecting strongly to wearing a bib. He would pull at them so hard I was afraid he was going to hurt himself. The only one he would tolerate at all, and he would whip it off as soon as he was done eating, was so large in the neck that food would regularly end up on the top of his clothes. I thought I would try this and see if he would put up with it. I really didn't hold out much hope. But, I've been using for a week now and he's fine with it. Seems like the bib wars may be over. I like the fact that it covers every inch of his clothes too. He would often get his sleeves in things even when I would pull them up. Now his clothes stay clean all day.

We bought this in blue about 2 years ago for our now 3 year old and recently purchased this one for our now 18 month old. We use it as an art smock and it is perfect for that purpose:

Things I love about this smock:
adjustable sizing
lightweight material that is easy to wear
elastic on wrists that keep the sleeves closed at the wrist so that any clothing/skin underneath is not exposed (note that the elastic is not so strong that it could hurt little wrists)
full coverage (for the younger one--more like a full body smock and for our older one, more like knee length--I note that the description says 8 months-3 years, but I foresee getting more use out of this than that)
easy to wash (evidently this is machine washable, but we have never needed to do so--just give it a wipe with a wet paper towel or wipe when still on the child or rinse under the faucet and hang to dry quickly)

Things I don't love:
nothing really so far.

Would highly recommend this to anyone with toddlers who like to paint or make a mess.

Our son has defeated every. single. bib. since he was probably about 7 months old. The babybjorn standard bib was pulled off with ease, the oxo bib was unvelcro-ed very quickly, and the aden & anais bibs were unsnapped. We ended up stripping down our baby into a diaper for most meals because he was so messy. I wish we would have bought this sooner- it's great! It's basically a giant smock that is tight around the wrists (that you can move up higher on the arm) and has a double snap at the back of the neck and middle back (and the snaps are MUCH better than standard snaps on other bibs/clothes). It's long, so it covers baby's pants, which is a huge plus. And it's very easy to clean- just wipe down & it dries by the next meal. Every so often I'll throw it in the laundry to get a better clean. Highly recommend this for messy eaters!

Have tried several types of these smocks/bibs and this is the best so far since it provides the most coverage. The others are too short and food falls in my little ones lap staining her pants. This provides extra coverage. Also love that the fabric is soft, easy to clean and dries quick. I have been using it for about 5 months now and my 20 month old is 34" and works perfect.

I love this smock! My son is 16 months old and quite a messy eater. When we feed him anything messy, he usually rubs it all over his shirt. This smock protects his clothes completely. It tucks in under the highchair tray so it even covers his pants. Now we can feed him anything without having to change his clothes first or worry about stains. It also covers the highchair seat so we don't have to clean that as often either! It is easy to put on and take off, my son doesn't mind wearing it at all, and it's very easy to clean with a damp cloth. You can throw it in the washer too but we haven't had to yet. It works great for art projects too. Now that I have this, I don't know how I lived without it!

This smock does a great job protecting my baby's clothes, although she hates to wear it. That's not the fault of the product though - I took off one star because the white stitching on the sleeves is already picked and pulled after a run in with some velcro, and it is also already stained from spaghetti and similar dishes. It's superficial damage, but considering what I paid it shouldn't do that.

These bibs are fantastic! They are worth every penny and pay for themselves when you factor in the reduction of stain treaters needed. They are generously sized and will grow with my 1 year old. These are great quality and are holding up fine in the wash. I wish I had bought more sooner!
