Comments / reviews:
I rarely give 5stars, but this earned it.
I'm going to address other negative comments first.
Tire smell- yes they smell, but ALL tires smell. I suspect the newer the tire is the more it smells. I don't keep it inside the house so not a problem. The smell should go away with time.
Instructions-really not neede-unfold, attach wheels!
Web strap- No, each kayak is different, you will have to figure how to route the strap yourself. The strap is adequate, I rolled mine over uneven, soft sand with no problem. But, for convenience, I have ordered adjustable bungee cords.
Plastic rims- right on the rim there is a warning 10 PSI. USE A MANUAL PUMP. Alternately set your compressor to 10 or LESS PSI.

Having said all that...I inflated the tires to 10 PSI, loaded my kayak, did a test pull over uneven, sandy ground, everything worked fine.
Then I reviewed the instructions. Again, instructions really not needed.

BTW, if used around saltwater I would recommend apply a preservative to the aluminum.

Haven't used it in action yet, but assembly was a breeze and the integrity of the frame seems strong. Tires arrive inflated. There is also a handy kickstand to load your kayak. One thing though; you must configure the tires so that the air nozzles are facing inward, otherwise, they will collide with the metal piece that holds them in place, and won't be able to spin freely.

Husband loves these. Allows him to get out of the house and easily abandon his responsibilities.

So far so excellent. Took me a bit to figure out exactly how to unfold it (one side flops open, the other has to be pushed, so that once open it’s rigid.) the one strap included was long enough to hold the kayak to the cart —I put it around the cockpit rim and through the axle (the curved bit between the tires) so pulling on the kayak pulls on the cart too (see photo). Several people commented on this cart and others that the boat twists off on uneven ground, and I can see why—it happened to me when I got it to the lip into my garage, which I hit at an angle. So if I need to move it over uneven ground, I’ll try to stabilize it more by adding some bungee cords. But for the short trip down my gravel driveway, it worked beautifully. I can’t imagine e $100+ carts would work any better for my needs. BTW, the tires that came with mine are not rubber, but foam-filled plastic, preferable on two counts: weight and smell. Rubber tires can be very smelly in the confines of a vehicle.

The product is very well made and easy to use. The frame is solid but light and folds up easily to pack onto the back of my kayak to use for portage in various stops. The carrier I originally ordered came with inflatable wheels; however, one of the inner tubes burst when I was inflating it and cracked the wheel well. I contacted to the company to purchase a replacement and they immediately sent me the newer version of the wheels (non-inflatable) at no charge. That is the kind of customer service that will keep TMS in my mind when it's time to buy other related items.

The carrier works smoothly and has excellent balance. My only issue is the minor annoyance of the tie down strap. It tends to slip out of the provided slots during stowage. However a couple zip ties fixes this and shortening the straps also helps. I wholeheartedly recommend this carrier.

Own an 80 lb kayak. I am 64 years old, and not in the best of shape. Have to go about 400 feet down and back up hill to get from the parking area to the lake and back, the last 1/4 being sand, rest being gravel and grass. With this kayak cart, was able to do it effortlessly by myself. Some people complained about the smell of the pneumatic tires. Yep, they smell like rubber tires. Your car tires would smell the same if you brought them indoors when you first bought them. Smell went away after about a day in the garage. Very pleased with this cart.

This cart is sturdy and easy to load my 63 pound kayak on. I do use a different strap than the one provided after watching a youtube video on how to use these carts. But the strap provided is serviceable and would also work so I will keep it as a spare. After loading my kayak and strapping it to the cart, I pulled it out of the garage and rolled it down my long country driveway of shell, sand and some mud. Worked wonderfully! Very happy with the TMS kayak canoe john boat carrier.

Good quality and very handy. The nice feature of this one is that the tires are designed to be quickly installed/removed, which makes storage a lot easier.

The best thing I can say about this product is once you have your kayak in place and strapped it is easy to maneuver. Having said that it would be helpful if they had a specific spot to run the Cinch down straps. Pretty easy to figure out once you try it. Does the job. Thanks

I actually thought I'd be able to carry my 12ft kayak a half-mile down to the river and back by myself comfortably, after doing it once I knew i'd need a better way, this cart is easy to assemble and use, and makes moving your kayak a thousand times easier.
