Bought it May 2013. Just died November 2016 -- doesn't push water up into the coffee basket, even after multiple attempts to decalcify/clean.

Prior to this, it's been a champ. Used it almost everyday. Really like the programmable features, the Auto Off options, the carafe temperature options. We might buy this again and just figure on another three-year lifespan -- but going to look for other options too before we do so

update:
We bought the DCC-3200 -- newer model at the same price point. I recommend it instead. It has some nice features. It is neither taller nor noticeably deeper, but they get 14 cups instead of 12 cups. The water measurement is on the side of the coffeemaker instead of being inside the reservoir. It offers a bold setting which does strengthen the coffee (not what we need, but perhaps nice for others). An option to turn off the tones completely (this one we use and like).

Perhaps most importantly, the lid of the DCC-3200 has more holes through which the hot water drips onto the ground coffee. The DCC-1200 had fewer holes, more concentrated around the center. This led to more splashing of the coffee grounds, which would often lead to grounds spilling over into the reservoir, leading to cleaning issues and probably shortening the lifespan of the carbon filter cartridges. The DCC-3200 has a more even dispersion of the hot water -- I can tell because the used coffee grounds are rather neatly compacted.

I can't yet say about the longevity. Since the DCC-1200 last 3.5 years on a 3 year warranty, and the DCC-3200 comes with a 3 year warranty, I have a prediction...

I have been a die-hard Bunn coffee maker fan for many years. After about 12 years it just wasn't brewing good coffee anymore. Part of the reason I'm sure is because the water is super hard where I live, even though I always used filtered water to make coffee. So on a last ditch effort I decided to clean it to see if that would help. A huge amount of what looked like sand came out of the cleaner. I decided to do some research for a new coffee maker. I did alot of research....Amazon reviews, Consumer Reports, Lowe's reviews and so on. After narrowing it down to a few, I decided on this one and I love it! It makes great coffee, is programmable, coffee stays hot, and it steams very little while brewing (important to me because I have it under the counter). Been using it for about a week now and couldn't be happier with it. I had forgotten what good coffee tasted like.

I had a Cuisinart Brew Central for many years. It had started to perk coffee very slowly. I cleaned it but I think my water caused internal calcification so I replaced it with the same brand and model because I love the first one so much. The first one lasted me almost 20 years so I consider the coffee maker a very good value for the price. It makes good coffee and now the new one makes it quickly! The best feature is being able to get your first cup before the pot is brewed.

This coffee pot is awesome. It makes mediocre palatable. We have used inexpensive and expensive coffee types in the coffeemaker. Both work well. You will need to find the one that you personally like best. I personally like being able to program for the morning and know it's done when I want it .
Easy to clean. It shuts off after 2 hours if you forget to. It's a 12 cup capacity which comes in handy for extra people over.
There is a clock on the front. It's not big, but is visible. All the functions are done with knobs under the clock. The pot itself has an easy pour. It doesn't slosh all over. The only not easy part for me, was the back area where you pour the water into the reservoir. I bit awkward, but doable.
I liked enough to have bought 2 more as gifts. Both recipients loved them

I love this coffee maker! The carafe doesn't drip, the settings easy to use, and it makes a great tasting coffee. This is my second purchase of the same model, in about 10 years - I've not found a unit I'd like better, since I bought my first one The water tanks can be a pain to fill, if you're not paying attention, but that's a minor personal complaint.

One tip - if more water is added than desired, do NOT tip the unit over to pour out water. Either use a turkey baster to remove some or let it brew all the way through. This is WHY I had to replace my old one - water got into the controls and could no longer program it.

Works and looks great! I used the automatic on setting for the morning coffee, and the 1-4 cup setting for a maximum flavor. No need for coffee filters since the machine comes with a reusable filter that works pretty well. The machine stays on after brewing for an hour by default so your coffee keeps warm for a while after brewing (I believe you can set this for longer)

Note: for the best tasting coffee you must grind coffee to Medium-grind. If you grind the beans too fine is going to result in watery coffee with a bitter taste!

One con is that I wish I could remove the water fillerso that I clean it regularly. However, the machine has a light alert for self cleaning.

For many years I made my coffee with a Technivorm which is a high-quality, handmade coffee brewer from Europe. My research on brewing excellent coffee comes down to how high the coffee brewer heats the water. 90% of the coffee brewers on the market do not get the water hot enough to really extract the flavor from the coffee beans. The Technivorm was one of the few that did heat the water hot enough, however, it became a PITA because the shower head was so small it would only get the coffee grounds in the center wet and would leave a ring of dry grounds around the outside edge. I had to stand and stir the grounds every time I made coffee.

My son bought this Cuisinart for his then girlfriend in 2013 and she really loved it. About a year later they moved in with me and we decided to use her coffee maker. I really liked it, it is a high quality machine that produces excellent coffee every time and we used it sometimes 2-3 times per day to brew half-pots during the 18 months they lived with me. Just put the water and coffee in, turn it on and it does the rest. It also has a programmable auto function for those who like their coffee ready when they get out of bed. My son and his now wife recently moved out and I immediately ordered this same machine. I got it today and am drinking an excellent cup of coffee from the first pot I brewed with it.

Reading some of the older reviews that are several years old, apparently there were problems with this machine but it looks like the problems have been corrected. Also, it has a charcoal filter for the water tank, I recommend changing every six months or so. The filters are inexpensive and are available here on Amazon.

We love this coffee maker. Actually it replaces the old one we had just like it. It died after 10 years, husband wanted the same one as we never had any issues

I had a Mr. Coffee before this. I like strong Coffee. The Mr. Coffee made stronger coffee but this makes better coffee. Also, the perfect coffee maker for a tall guy (I am 6'6"). The buttons are on the base, so no bending or leaning. The clock is back lit, so it is easy to see. And, the on-off buttons are larger than normal, so no more fat fingering.

The water tank is separate from the coffee basket, so no grounds in the brew water and the grounds cannot clog up the water pump.

I would do 4-1/2 as my gripes are minor. The toggle switch for on/off is not very beefy. I wonder how long it will last? The lid on the pot could be easier to take off. I wish it just flipped up with a touch of the thumb. It snaps down in place. Pot holds condensation in, so you really want to rinse and put in the dish rack to dry. It comes with a gold tone filter, so the extra I bought is redundant. Otherwise it seems to be working fine and I am happy with my purchase.
