I bought this coffee pot because I wanted a cheap and efficient model to brew up a large pot of coffee to drink while working at home. Mr. Coffee has always been a pretty good brand I've found, and this coffee pot does what you'd expect a reasonably priced coffee maker to do. It works, it's simple to operate, and it makes a good pot of coffee without making a mess on your counter.

The coffee maker is very easy to fill up with its flip top design that you pour the water right in. You can see the fill line on the side of it so you can figure out how many cups you want pretty easily. The plastic filter basket where you put your coffee filters swings open and closes tightly. I've used the machine almost daily for three months and haven't had any issues with the filter assembly so far. You can remove the assembly so that it is easy to wash. I've run it through the dishwasher with no trouble.

As for filters, I've found that you want to use the basket type over the cone type for these. The cone types tend to make a bit of a mess and you can get grounds everywhere. I've switched to using the Mr. Coffee permanent filter basket style for this coffee maker and it works perfectly for me. No grounds anywhere, easy to pull out and clean up when I take the filter off, and I have run both the filter basket assembly and the permanent filter through my dishwasher on the top rack and have had no issues.

The coffee maker also has some basic settings that you can use to time delay a pot of coffee, and I've found that it works as you'd expect. It's pretty easy to program it for this.

The coffee maker will shut itself off after two hours or so.

There are only a couple minor issues that I have with the maker. First minor issue is that the maker tends to make a few random noises here and there after the pot is brewed that sort of sound like it is still processing coffee. They don't last very long, and it's probably just steam venting off or something, but it does make me wonder a bit about what it is doing. The other minor issue that I have is that there is no warning that the coffee pot is shutting itself off after two hours. As I like to brew a pot in the early morning and drink coffee until around noon or so, I end up having to pay attention to the pot and turn it back on every couple hours or so.

Even with my minor complaints, this is a perfectly serviceable inexpensive coffee maker if you are just looking for something cheap to get your morning joe. It doesn't grind beans, doesn't handle k-cups, or make you cappuccino or espresso, but it does make a hot pot of simple black coffee for around 20 bucks and does it consistently.

Sometimes old school gets the job done just right. This coffee maker is a good example of that.

I recommend it.

Cheap, functional, and no-frills - that way when I'm done abusing it for ~2 years I can get rid of it and not feel too bad about spending a ton of money. Delivered on all my expectations!

Fill right from you faucet. Two hour auto turn off. Be sure to order a basket style permenant filter with your coffeemaker. It is difficult to wash the filter holder with the glass pot every day because it is hard to remove the machine. Using the basket filter with your paper filter will give you a smooth flavorful cup of coffee with no acid taste. Mr Coffee machines have been the best performers for me. Good price!

Great coffee maker. Turns itself off after 2 hours so you don't burn your coffee or coffee maker.

Easy to program for the morning so coffee is ready when you wake up.

I love the way the well is made. The entire pot can be over the well so any splash back goes into the pot not onto the counter.
Only drawback to it is the filter area. It is on a swivel pin. The best way to work with that is remove the filter instead of the basket.
Not hard, just use good paper/fiber filters and pinch them together when you need to pull them out.

We make one pot/day in our house. What we have found over the last couple of years is that that coffee makers today have essentially become disposable items. Our previous coffee maker that cost ~$50 worked fine, had more bells/whistles, but would clog and slow drip about every ~3-4 months. We would do the vinegar run, it would work well for ~100 days, then clog back up again. For that reason, we decided to toss the "foofy one", go with a more simplified version of a coffee maker, spend ~$30 and just buy a new one if/when we get frustrated. Fortunately, this one has been great and has not clogged once in the 2 months that we've been using it.

Pros:
- Has not clogged yet (large water flow openings throughout)
- Very easy to understand how it works
- Easy access to all parts
- Makes coffee quickly
- Stopper design is simple and works well when you pull the coffee pot out mid-brew
- Inexpensive
- Large opening when you're ready to pour water into the machine
- Transparent gauge so you can easily read how much water, if any, is already in the machine

Cons:
- No bells/whistles (could be a pro too!)
- Does not feel very "substantial"

I have added a few photos for your reference/review.

Bought this to replace a constantly leaking Hamilton Beach Brew Station which deserved its fate at the bottom of the recycle bin. The MC cost 1/4 as much, makes just as good coffee and doesn't have any way to leak. Only off is that removing the filter to reload it for next pot is more difficult. I solved that by get one of the brass baskets and using it with a paper filter. This lets me just lift out the used makings with the little basket handle. All is well now. Recommended.d

This is a great coffee maker for the price. It's fairly easy to use and for those of us who are used to the technology level of scooping our own and using a filter it provides the familiarity we have grown used to. It's made of sturdy materials and has a pleasing appearance that in my opinion fits most decors. Very suitable for home or office especially if you want to brew more than one cup at a time. I used the first Mr. Coffee many years ago and this one is a worthy descendant.

This is a good little coffee maker. It does what it's supposed to do. The programmable feature allows for set up the night before, so when you wake up, your coffee is ready. It makes 12 cups, but keep in mind, these are 12 measuring cups. Who drinks a cup of coffee the size of a measuring cup. I don't. The average coffee cup holds about two measuring cups. So, it makes up to around 6 cups of coffee at a time. Which is fine. My only gripe is the basket which holds the coffee grounds. It swings out, but to take it on and off is somewhat difficult. A rather poor design. But, all in all, this is a nice looking coffee maker with a great price. I would recommend buying this product.

I want so badly to give this a 5 star but the timer was way to much of a hassle to set up as well as some manufacturering flaws. First off let me say I bought a cheap machine because I burn through my coffee makers normally within 6 months. I had a beautiful cusienart 250 buck machine that I replaced 5 times in 2 years. And no it's not the company's fault it was mine. Finally decided to go back to traditional coffee makers and started braking craffs left and right and waiting 20 minutes for coffee at 5 am sucks. So to the nitty gritty

Pro's
- 3 minutes to brew full pot
- very nice and modern looking
- easy remove basket
- sturdy base

Cons
- the craff glass scares me it is way to light weight and this
- brew delay and clock based on instructions very hard to set up.
- User manual very hard to follow.

All in all still a great machine.

Pro: Coffee is hotter, booth right after brewing and later. Nice because I like cream in my coffee and I hated having to microwave it just to get it hot. It works well.
Cons: Not crazy about the basket. First impression was "cool, the basket swings out." Then that night I realized that you have to remove it to dump it and then try to line up the pins to replace it. So not cool! If it weren't for that, I would have given it 5 stars.

We shall see how long it lasts. The last Mr Coffee only lasted about a year.
