If you're not 20 years old and male, I recommend this highly. I'm 72 years, a lady. This is very easy to use and I'm cutting overgrown grass/weeds 2 feet tall. Light, almost no vibration, pretty quiet. Battery lasts about half an hour with heavy heavy use. I don't care. Gets the job done with minimal effort from me. That's what I wanted and why I bought this. Takes about 5 hours to come back to a full charge so I ordered 2 more batteries. That, better than dealing with the fire dept. The trimmer line appears to last forever, was I shocked. I'm still on the first spool. It's easy on the back but I still ordered a universal strap. Push button start, the shaft adjusts to your comfort zone. I didn't want to deal with a pull-cord start. No gas fumes or mixing oil with gas. I love the wheels, I wheel this to cut and this ground is very uneven. If there's a problem, I lift the machine a little. I'm using this on a 2 acre lot.

After years of mulching, weeding by hand, using manual weeding tools, and chemicals, I finally decided to get a weedwacker. Standard life lesson - have the right tool and the job gets done quicker and better. Flowerbeds, mulch beds, tree drip lines, and edging all look much much better. If you don't have a trimmer, get one.

I've never had a trimmer before so I can't say how much better or worse this thing is compared to gas trimmers or corded electric trimmers. It folds up nice and I'm happy not to deal with mixing fuel or extension cords. All the twists and configurations are useful and work well enough for me. I like it.

There are two drawbacks with this thing.

First, the battery goes fast. We have a 1/3 acre lot. For the first few weeks, I had to do my trimming and edging on two different days. The battery lasts about 20 minutes. But my yard was a mess. I spent two or three days (battery charges) doing one side, then two or three days on the front yard, then the back, etc. For a month, it was a daily routine. It was satisfying to see the yard clean up and I didn't mind going out every day to fine tune my trimming routine. After the first month, everything was in order, and I can now "maintain" the whole yard with one charge (usually two). Of course if I had two batteries, that would be best, but the batteries are expensive so I spend two days a week trimming.

The second drawback is the trimming "string." It works well but occasionally breaks off. You will need to open the string case and find where the jelly-like string has gotten stuck. Have a small screwdriver handy to break the stuck line free. The string is thin and flexible. During my first month, I used one spool a week. Again, not cheap for a 10 foot spool. I got some commercial grade line from a neighbor and refilled one spool. That works too, but it's kind of a pain compared to conventional trimmers. The line feeds itself out, so that's a plus, but it's kinda pricey to replace, so that's not a plus.

If you have a small yard and not a lot of tough spots, I highly recommend this product. We have a long driveway and a 60 foot landscaped strip that is a constant weed battleground for me, and that's why the battery and string are an issue.

I received the Worx GT2 trimmer yesterday. I purchased it from "Prime Time Solutions." I chose the package that included two batteries. I previously owned a Greenworks trimmer but the battery and motor died after two years of occasional winter use. After some arguing, Greenworks sent me a replacement motor shaft but their replacement battery costs almost as much as the Worx trimmer with one battery & charger. And some parts of the Greenworks trimmer had completely rusted, so I decided to replace the Greenworks with the Worx.

I fully charged both batteries that came with the Worx & started trimming the next morning. I timed the run times with my watch. The first battery gave me 20 minutes but the second battery died after only 5 minutes. I contacted the seller & I'm waiting for a reply. They have a special website for battery issues - which tells me battery problems are rather common.

The trimmer works quite well for a cordless trimmer. It will sometimes slow down in thick clumps of grass or weeds, but it does an adequate job. The ergonomics are OK - provided you aren't over six feet tall. The shaft length is adjustable but there is not enough length available for taller people. I'm around six feet tall & I found the maximum length barely sufficient. I am also a bit disappointed at the mower feature. I was looking forward to using the trimmer as a mini mower but the wheels are too large in diameter and they sit too high which makes it impossible to mow weeds & grass as closely as I would like. I suppose they would be OK if you prefer taller grass.

The trimmer came with a spool of line already installed & two extra spools but they are very small spools & I don't expect them to last very long. The "Free Extra Spools For Life" feature is quite a joke because the shipping costs more than the spools.

The only complaint I have is that the batteries take several hours to charge.

UPDATE - 2-19-15: A few hours after I e-mailed Worx about the problem with one of the batteries, they responded & will send me a replacement battery & a box to send the defective one back. The Fed-Ex label arrived on 2-24-15 and the replacement battery arrived on 2-26-15. Excellent customer service!

UPDATE - 2-27-15: The replacement battery arrived & after charging, it lasted for 25 minutes of almost-constant use in thick weeds. I also noticed that the string that is used in this trimmer is more durable than the string used in the Greenworks trimmer. It doesn't break as easily. Each time I used the Greenworks trimmer, there would always be several pieces of broken string on the ground. After using the Worx trimmer three times, there is no broken string on the ground.

I really like this weed eater. It is light, has plenty of power, and the battery last a real long time. I've used 5 times in about 2 months and I am still on the initial charge. The battery lasts a long time. The option of using the included wheels to trim along the curb, sidewalk, and driveway is really handy. I do recommend this product, well worth it!

I'm very happy that i purchased this weed eater... I went from a gas/oil mix weed eater that was extremely difficult to start, very noisy, and would cut out halfway through the job, to this first trigger pull, powerful battery, weed eater.. I can finish my yard with this Worx wacker before I could get my expensive, crappy gas/oil wacker started... I will never go back to the gas/oil again.. Never have to worry about gas going bad over the winter, carbs clogging, gas line rotting... buy this for $99 & you will be glad you did...

This is the coolest trimmer! Reasonably lightweight - the battery probably weighs as much as the entire trimmer - which lasts a long time after charged up. Comes with an extra spool and has a spool cover (only mentioned because I bought extras not knowing they would be included). Still on the 1st spool and cannot say enough about this..makes it "fun" to do the trimming and I have a large yard with many areas to trim! The manual didn't explain the different settings as far as switching from trimmer to mini-mower, etc but there are some online Youtube videos that are extremely helpful and highly recommend looking at those so you aren't completely lost, as I was. Very nice trimmer and easily adjusts and the best part - it's cordless!!!! Highly recommend!

This really is a very nice piece of yard equipment and when you're older you don't have to worry about chords are gasoline or anything you just take it pop the battery in and I'll use it most of all for a mini mower I live in a subdivision and so the yards aren't that big and I can just go out there and just mow the yard in between times until my other husband actually can get the lawnmower at least the yard stays all one level and it looks a lot nicer than overgrown very easy to use very nice

I've been very happy with my Worx. I'm still learning how to use it but having fun with it. It's so much easier for a senior citizen who is also disabled.

I had already tried this out before I purchased mine so I already knew how well it would operate. The wheel allows me to do my own trimming otherwise health conditions would prevent that. You just push it along and guide it. It will do most grasses but not things like iron weeds or things that would grow to be woody. Easily put together. You can trim about 30 min each time but then I’ll ready to rest anyway. I charge it for 3 hours and it’s good to go again. Very lightweight and affordable

I like this weed wacker but don't LOVE it because of the lack of power. It works fine, but won't go through thicker weeds. I love the fact that I don't have to try and get my gas weed wacker started anymore... I do love the battery power as opposed to gasoline. Which also makes this extremely light and ergonomic to use for this 61 year old woman.
