Purchased October 2017 - still going strong. Mainly used to move files between desktops - so I don't have to repeat downloads from the Internet.
Pros:
It's portable and cheap (which is why they can't be a substitute for Portable SSD or Main drives)
Cons:
The USB Protocol(s) are slow when moving multiple small files (example: if you move a single 10 Gb file - you will probably see something close to 200 MB/s speeds on the Write cycle. If you move 300 files that equal 10 Gbytes - then you are asking the USB protocol to answer 300 separate request/depending on file sizes? You will be disappointed with the speed drop).
These are not INTEL Optane 3D X-point drives (which handle multiple request and fast). I am not an Intel Shill... but hope this helps

I wanted to take time to write a review for this drive. I have had nothing but good things really from Patriot drives, I have owned the RAGE type for 2 or 3 years now. I am a teacher in Chicago Public Schools and I keep all my files on this drive and walk around with it during the school day on a lanyard. It gets plenty of use and abuse to say the least. I have had trouble with SanDisk drives not working or not being read by some of the older machines in our building, or other drives not working when they are pulled out and not removed from windows with the "Safely remove hardware" series of clicks. This drive I can just put in any machine and it works, I pull it out anytime it's not reading or writing and it's fine. The speed is great with USB 3.0. But the real reason I am writing this review is to say that I left this drive in my pocket and it went through the washer, rinse cycle, and hot dryer cycle and STILL worked, (true story) and its still working months later. I know they can't say washing machine proof on their marketing, and maybe I was just lucky, but if you want a no nonsense tough drive that just plain works no matter what you really do to it during the day I recommend this one. For me reliability is the most important thing.

This thing is nothing if it's not tough. I forgot and left it in my jeans one day. My wife washed and dried it without realizing....and it still worked perfectly! Then, just last week, I left it in a pocket with a small chocolate bar. The chocolate melted and not only coated the drive body but also completely clogging the USB connector. The chocolate had hardened to the point that I had to scrape the thickest parts off with a knife, then soak and rinse the rest of it off, fearing all along that the drive was going to be ruined. I had to flush the USB connector with copious amounts of hot water to get it clean. I let it dry overnight and--you guessed it! The drive still worked. I am very impressed. As far as overall function, it seemed to read and write sufficiently fast for my needs. The only think I don't like about it is the slidey gizmo that is supposed to protect the connector when not in use. It doesn't work, but just slides open and stays that way most of the time, except when it decides to slide back the other way. If you're not concerned with that, this is otherwise a very good and survivable flash drive.

A very fast flash drive and is set up to work on many operating systems. I bought one a few months back and have experienced such good results I just bought another one. There are two small design flaws, 1) the slider part of the unit doesn't lock properly, so the information on the drive is more susceptible to the "slim" possibility of something entering the unprotected end of the connection and shorting out the drive. This has NEVER occurred, but the fact the sliding part doesn't stay open (or closed) is not good. I noticed Patriot makes one very close to this model with a "cap" not a slider, however, the speed is a bit slower. 2) The physical size of the drive is a bit wide, which presents a problem if you have a few other flashes inserted into the side of your computer. Chances are, you'll have to leave a space between this drive and one of the other usb slots. Still highly recommend this unit

My whole world is on thumb drives, and I’ve owned every major brand available. Needed a large capacity one to take files and photos from home to school, and share across many computers. Got this one at a pretty good price, and it came with a 3-year warranty, so I felt comfortable with the quality, and set my expectations high.

First thing I noticed is how small it is closed. Really nice. Looks cool, for sure. Second thing was that it transfers files much, much faster than my older thumb drives. Finally, I appreciated just how much stuff this tiny gem holds. I have all my files and photos from the last thirty years—from school and home—and the drive says I have 200 gb free space left!

Looks to be pretty durable (my old SanDisk titanium is still my favorite), and I can’t think of any negatives after two weeks, so there you are.

**** UPDATE (July1, 2019) **** OK, after putting 300 GB of precious data on this drive, yesterday, I accidentally tossed it in the washer, in the pocket of my jeans. They were seriously stained, so I soaked them all day, and dried them on 'hot' for an hour. Out they came. There was my Patriot--last thing out of the dryer, and hotter than a sunburn. In short, it fired up and worked perfectly. I would not recommend doing this—and maybe I was very lucky—but thanks, Patriot. You make an extremely durable little thumb drive! Whew…!

I've tried some budget 512 Gig thumb drives and they've been pretty worthless. This drive is fast and reliable. No, not as fast as the specs, but drives never are. This outperforms the others I've tried, though, and I'm very pleased with it. I've moved very large file directories with reasonable dispatch and no dropped files, as far as I can tell.

I should prelude with the important info, which is on both of these 128 gig flash drives, I get anywhere from 5-20 MB/s to 90-100 MB/s, which obviously depends on the complexity of the directories and file sizes you are writing on the drive.

128GB review:
I first bought this USB two years ago, and I've been using it extremely heavily since. A couple months ago this drive went corrupt while transferring a large amount of data into it, after spending the last several months transferring hundreds of gigabytes worth of work-related data into and out of the USB; during one of these transfers it went corrupt, and I eventually decided to buy another one of these, since it still seemed to be the most reliable and reasonably-priced +128 USB on the market, even better than the new 'Rage 2' model.

I was actually able to transfer most of the data from the old USB to the new USB, through a nightmarish process, but I was able to get about 90% of the data without any issues, then decided to try to reformat the old corrupted USB, and ran an error check on it, and it showed up as completely error free, meaning it was some sort of software formatting issue, and the physical USB is still fine. After using the old USB, it runs at the same rate as the new one I just bought (from this same amazon page) two years ago.

Patriot don't stop being you! Because you make some impressive pieces of hardware!

Ok. First off, I bought a Patriot XT Boost for my first flash drive--it was 16gb. I loved that thing. You could throw it around, throw it at your friends. Walk away a richer man after betting your friends it would withstand the washing machine and dryer. It was a beast of a flash drive. This Patriot product is just as excellent and it's 64gb!

What I like about this flash drive is the lack of losable parts. The XT Boost had a cap cover which I would occasionally lose and would frustrate me to no end. Patriot always came through though and would send me replacement caps for free. THIS flash drive simply snaps into place when needed and back inside the confines of its shell when not. I love it! The one drawback of this design is the front of the flash drive is exposed the whole time. I wouldn't feel as confident betting this would survive a washing machine and dryer. As long as you remember to take it out of your pant pockets before a wash, this flash drive will stay functional until you...throw it down a cliff or something. It's a beast.

I really have nothing negative to say about this product. It's a perfect flash drive for all occasions.

Pros:
+Fast
+Durable
+Good Construction

Cons:
-Exposed front

I comparison shopped like crazy for the best USB 3.0 at a good price. While this drive may not be the cheapest in the 32 GB category, it is for the speed and price. most of the sellers on here are happy to brag about how fast their drives are at reading, but most USB drives read fast. the thing you really need to know is how fast they write. I used it to make a recovery drive that was aprrox 16GBs and it took right at 45 minutes! thats amazing for $10.99. also you don't need to buy the Amazon insurance because it's already covered by the manufacturer. Oh and unlike some off it's competition, you don't need to find, buy, and use an app to format it. it's ready right out of the package.

Physically, I like the capless style of the drive and that it has a slightly rubberized feel to it.

It has been hard to find some speeds for this drive so I wanted to provide feedback for people looking for a fast USB 3.0 drive with a great value. These tests are with the drive formatted NTFS, but I provided Crystal results below for FAT32 as well. The test machine is a quad core i7 with 16GB of RAM and a Crucial M4 512GB SSD as the system disk.

I am getting 168MB/s read and almost 47MB/s write speeds on large files >1GB which match with what Crystal Disk Mark is reporting.

Crystal Disk Mark 3.0.1 x64 Win7 formatted NTFS:
seq 168.2 46.71
512 134.8 1.156
4k 6.055 0.034
4kq 6.666 0.050

Formatted FAT32:
seq 168.2 46.87
512 100.5 0.896
4k 5.836 0.032
4kq 6.170 0.039

I haven't had any problems with the drive in any way, but only used it between two different systems.
