First of all, all I can say is WOW! All of this time I have been complaining to my ISP about slow internet speeds and not getting what I am paying for. I have been signed up for 100mbps for the longest time, but on the best of days I would only get 35mbps. I checked my modem, it's a DOCIS 3.0 so I guess I just chalked it up to being in a bad coverage area.

The slow speeds really started annoying me as the wifi in my bedroom would barely reach 5mbps and I would end up switching to LTE on my phone to get webpages to load. I purchased my wireless router in 2010 (seven years ago) and the whole time in between I was ignorant to think that WiFi technology hasn't changed and that I didn't need an upgrade. Boy was I wrong.

I finally concluded that the problem has to be with my router so I hit up Amazon to find a new one since mine was so dated. I looked at various NetGear routers but decided against them from the many negative reviews. I stumbled across this router, and even though it is on the pricier side of the house, the reviews were solid and I took the plunge and boy am I happy I did.

My internet is now faster than ever and I am finally getting what I am paying for! I couldn't be happier. These are the speeds I was getting before and after purchasing this router:

Living room:
Before -- 35mbps
After -- 118mbps

Before -- 5mbps
After -- 102mbps

Before -- 1mbps
After -- 50mbps

As you can see, the speeds have been significantly impacted. The antennas on these bad boys send the signal all the way to the back of my house and I can finally browse in peace where ever I am. Honestly, I can't believe I waited this long to make the upgrade.

If you have terrible service and aren't getting the speeds you are paying for, your problem very well may be in your dated router, as mine was. If you have a few extra bucks to spend to finally get those speeds you've been dreaming of -- GET THIS ROUTER!

I was beginning to notice deteriorating performance on my Motorola Surfboard SBG6580 WiFi Cable Modem likely due to both its age (~5yrs) and the increased number of WiFi devices in my home. I have 2 Android phones, Android tablet, 4 LiFx Mini Smart Bulbs, 2 Google Home, a Google Mini, a Chromecast, a Chromecast Audio, a Roku, and occasionally my work laptop all connected to my home WiFi. Therefore I decided to upgrade my router and based on the reviews the AC1900 seemed like a good mid-range, dual-band WiFi router.

I disabled WiFi on my WiFi Cable Modem and setup the new router. I connected the 4 LiFx Mini lights using the 2.4 Ghz "802.11n Only" mode and the rest of my devices using the 5GHz "802.11ac Only" mode. At first I didn't notice much improvement over my 5 year old router so I suspected that something was wrong. I factory reset the new router and immediately noticed a significant improvement in speed, range, video quality when streaming video via Chromecast/Roku, and VOIP phone calls via Google Home. 802.11ac does make a noticeable difference over 802.11n and so far performs as fast as an ethernet connection. I'm very happy with my purchase.

ROCK SOLID. Easy installation. The router is well built - heavy duty. Note: Please download and use the Linksys app for set up - as it makes it smooth and easy. The in installation in total took about 30 minutes, not including logging into the new wifi on all our devices.

I am getting great reception throughout my larger house - full bars everywhere. Consistently great speeds when tested. Great speeds even at other end of house. I use to use (2) routers EA4500 - before one died - prompting me to buy this one. The E7500 - AC1900 blows them out of the water with its performance. I wish I would have done this sooner.

Also, the concurrent speeds of our devices (when they are all in use at the same time), seems much faster and more stable. I do not pretend to understand the MIMO technology - however the results have been are impressive.

Buy with confidence if you have a larger more spread out home and have many online devices. It will deliver a strong signal and great speeds.

This is the right router for the average home (meaning average suburban middle-class home around 2500-3000 sq ft). I have his is on the main floor corner office. I have a basement and 2nd floor, and I get coverage throughout the entire house, though the 5gz (as expected) is only 3 bars in the far opposite corner of the basement. For 2.4 gz I get full 5 bars most places, and 4 in the upper or lower floor far corners.

It is easy to set up, I got it going with minimal effort. I'd read other reviews that there were lots of extra management items in the setup, but I'd say this has typical set of setup & advanced options as compared with Netgear and other peers. True geeks can flash DD-WRT or something like that if they want and probably will anyway, so this has enough.

The only areas I would like to see improved are:
1. Optional activity lights per-port on the front--ie, I don't want that blinking in my face all the time but I'd like to optionally enable them when I'm doing setup or testing of the hardwired devices. (And in the correct order--ie, most routers put their front lights in the same order as if you're looking at the back--which is really the *reverse* order--I want the lights on the front to actually indicate the ports directly in-line with them in back. But I digress).

2. The power switch is really tight and hard to get at between the antenna base and the adapter plug in. If you're not 4 years old with toothpick-thin fingers, you are probably better off just yanking the power adapter if you want to power-cycle this.

3. Really minor--I'd like better wall-mount holes. The "keyhole" type mounting slots have a too- tiny diameter in the center spot--it can't take the average screw one might use.

This router was so easy to set up it was embarrassing. I had it on the shelf with the old router, and lucky for me, one day the old router just bit the dust. Wife asked me why the new router was still sitting on the shelf so that was my key to get the thing installed.

Make sure you DO NOT lose the inside instruction leaflet with the username/password on it. Once you're in, you can log into the IP address of the router and change the password to something more recognizable. Also, while in there, I turned off Guest account. I've never had anyone staying with us using that account, and I don't want to forget it's there and leave it on. Better to have them log into the main account then when they leave if you want change the password.

This thing is fast! It's also much more powerful of a signal than the last Linksys. It's amazing how much better routers have gotten in the last five years. Good investment for us. Highly recommended.

This router replaces a Linksys EA6350 that was continually dropping my wi-fi connections. Prior to that I had a Linksys E1500 for several years that never dropped a connection, so I decided to stick with the Linksys brand and I’m glad I did.

I’ve had the AC1900 Max-Stream in service for more than a year and half now and while the AC1900 class and processor are a little dated when compared to some of the newer routers on the market, this has been the most reliable and best performing router I’ve ever owned.

I’m using the AC1900 router with two Linksys RE6500 extender to increase the 5 Ghz band range; which for all routers is limited when compared to the 2.4 Ghz bands. The AC1900 router is upstairs at one end of a 3,000 ft sq home and the extenders are downstairs in the middle of the home. I consistently get 100+mB download and 10+mB upload speeds throughout every location in my home.

I have nearly 20 network devices connected to my network, to include a smart TVs, smart phones & tablets, two desktops & one laptop, a network printer, an HTPC, and several home security cameras. I have never had the router drop any of the devices, I’ve also had no lag or delays when streaming HD from NetFlix or Amazon Prime, even with multiple devices streaming at the same time. The only downtime I’ve had is when the cable or electricity has went out.

I've owned this router for several months now and it's been solid. I do a lot of online gaming which is what drew me to this router. It was made for this I believe. I always have the fastest ping in any lobby I'm in (around 10-20ms) and never have any problems with lag. Live-streaming gameplay on Twitch, I broadcast at full HD with zero hiccups in performance or quality, and that's on top of gaming, streaming music, and having friends over simultaneously doing the same. I'm quite impressed with this thing, especially for the price range.

Another thing I REALLY like and that has been super useful is the ability to plug in external hard drives via USB 3.0 into the back of the router and essentially having cloud storage right at home to store movies, games, music, and anything else I don't want taking up precious space on my computer, and being able to stream those files at any time on any device on the network..

Overall this router gets my highest praise in every aspect I can think of.- oh yeah, and not to mention having Alexa tell me my wifi password if I forget it and turning my guest network on and off when I have guests over.

four paws all the way up

I bought this to replace the deficit TP-link router that I purchased last Nov. That company doesn't value its warranty. They gave me a RMA number but I never got the replacement but nonsense emails. I was tired of TP-LINK service and I felt no hope that it would give me a replacement. So I changed the router brand to try this one. It's easy to setup and the signal covers every corner of my house and most of my yard. I also set up the router USB port of shared printer. It's not hard to follow the instructions but you have to download software for each computer. It's fantastic there's parents control . You can disrupt
the internet that kid's devices connect to at anytime. It's fast too. I like it as long as it wouldn't turn to be deficit in three years.

So far so good, I bought this LINKSYS MAX-STREAM AC1900 MU-MIMO Gigabit Router to replace my aging ASUS rt-n56u.
I live in about 1500SF two stories house with many devices connected at the same time, Roku, Apple TV, laptops, desktop, smartphones, and tablets.
So far everybody seems to be receiving good connection and none drops. Wife and online gamer son are not complaining so I think that great news!.
The device is quite large compared to our previews router, this Linksys is 7.25 x 10.03 x 2.19 in so be aware of that. But that also makes it look well build and build to last, hopefully.

The setup was actually very quick for me, about 5 minutes and using the one-click secure connection for printers and others devices work flawlessly.
The features I really like are the possibility of controlling most of the functions with my cell phone, no matter where I am, I can assign guess WIFI access and also control the parental permissions.

I haven't tried the USB external drives features or streaming video from NAS, but as soon as I have the opportunity I will update this review, I have been using this router for less than a month so far so later update may be necessary, but as straight out of the box and start connecting everything experience, its been great.

Bought this to replace an ASUS RT-N56U wireless router that had provided years of reliable service, but the wifi connection speeds were a little slow. Installation was a piece of cake. Was automatically logged into the Linksys router configuration website after I plugged in and connected the router. Chose network name and password, elected to have both the 2.5Mhz and 5Mhz bands use the same network name and password, and I was done. Since I decided to use the same network name and password that I used with my previous router, all my devices connected automatically and did not require any additional configuration or setup. Checked download speed around my house - just as fast as if I was hardwired directly into my modem with a cable. Very happy camper. Highly recommended.
