This router should come with a warning - the security settings do not show up if you use Firefox. It took me and a friend a few hours of trying to figure out what was wrong until we finally tried using a different browser. I had called Support and they wouldn't answer any questions about the problem I was having. They required proof of purchase to be mailed in before they could talk to me. Once the router was set up, and the security was set up, it worked fine. No thanks to Support!

I purchased this for a family member who recently received cable internet. Their requirements were simple: Just want to be able to use WiFi for their laptop, cell phone, and SmartTV. By using the supplied Ethernet (Network) cable I was able to power up the unit and plug into my cable modem. I did have to unplug and replug my cable modem though to get the internet. The instructions were simple enough to follow and help me set up my own wireless password. This unit has been used for over 2 years now without issue. Great value!

I've been looking to upgrade my router to a Wireless N since upgrading my modem several months ago, and finally the right deal hit - A Netgear WNR1500 which supports 802.11bgn. My needs are basic: I need to wire in a game console and my PC, and have access to wireless for cell phones and laptops throughout the rest of the house.

The list price for the WNR1500 is $50, but I got it for $30 plus a $10 mail in rebate, and I couldn't say no. The industry reviews on the item were very good quality, and I pulled the trigger.

Setup of the router was simple, the wizard got me up and running in no time - and for the power user there's a bevy of options available to tweak your security and settings. There were no compatibility or driver issues at all with my Windows 7 PC, I plugged and played.

The unit features two detachable antannaes. I actually had some concern about the range, because bucking all advice, I set up this router in the BASEMENT of my house (You are supposed to have your router as high as you can), because that's where the majority of the units I wanted to WIRE in were. The WNR1500, in addition to the wireless, also features 4 LAN ports. But, after setting it up in the basement (on the bottom shelf of a stand, no less) - Testing on the 1st and 2nd floors of my house went flawlessly, I was impressed with the strength and range. I was getting full bars as far away from the router as I could be while still being indoors.

This is probably not too important to most, but I think the unit looks sharp as well, sleek and all black with the appropriate blinking lights.

Overall, I am very pleased with the router and have no complaints.

Pros:Great range, looks sharp, easy set up.
Cons:None.

The Bottom Line: Couldn't be happier with the WNR1500 - If your routing needs are basic, I can't think of a reason not to go with this.

I purchased this to replace a troublesome old router. I have been using this for over a year and have not had any issues with connectivity. Connects to multiple device simultaneously. Easy to use password and settings interface. I would purchase again.

Fairly simple set up. Works fine for a medium sized house for internet medium speed usage on most websites.

My lady has a tablet and wanted wireless. I purchased one from our local FRYS, and no go. Ordered this one and was up and running in one night.

Works well

good router

I had an incredibly difficult time installing the software for this wireless router onto my computer with XP. I don't normally have issues like this with installation, but the instructions were so vague that it probably took almost 2 hours of fiddling to finally install the software properly. But, since then the router has been great. We are using it for 2 smartphones, a Samsung Smart TV, and a laptop. It has no problem with providing a signal to all of these devices at once and I can even be in my back yard over 150 ft. away and still get some signal. This item was a great price and even had a $10 rebate to make it an even better deal. I would recommend this to anyone as long as you are somewhat computer literate for the installation process.

Of all networking gear for the novice/geek like me I have to say Netgear puts out the best stuff. I have 3 routers, a switch, and a modem from Netgear all of them work flawlessly.
