In competitive gaming, every frame matters. Introducing Acer's VG271 gaming monitor - the Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution monitor that can keep up with your game play. Through AMD Radeon technology, the game’s frame rate is determined by your graphics card, not the fixed refresh rate of the monitor, giving you a serious competitive edge. Plus, users can enjoy comfortable viewing experience while gaming via flicker-less, low dimming and ComfyView display. The design saves space on your desk and lets you place multiple monitors side by side to build a seamless big-screen display. (UM.HV1AA.P02)

Pros:
1. 1080p: gives me 144 FPS on ultra settings. This would not be possible with a 2K or 4K monitor, and this is the primary reason I stuck with 1080p. I sit 2 feet away from my Monitor and the picture is clear without noticing any pixels.

2. IPS: great color and viewing angles. You can see good contrast and details in black corners. My other monitor after Acer XFA240 had poor viewing angles (TN panel) and colors.

3. Good response times, (1ms) little input lag. You can look at the reviews on other benchmark sites, and they agree this Monitor is plenty fast. I didn't notice a difference between this and the TN panel at 144Hz.

4. Decent speakers. Although 2W each speaker, these are way louder than my other Monitor, the XFA240, which surprisingly had the same wattage rating but did not sound as loud.

5. Cross Hairs, multiple options.

6. Multiple profiles you can save to and quickly load.

CONs:
Not height adjustable, but has a Vesa mount so you can swap it out with another monitor mount or buy a better mount.

This is my first 144Hz monitor, and man what a difference. It has that IPS edge glow and the response time could be a bit better, but this is a HUGE upgrade over my previous ancient monitor from the mid 2000's anyway. FreeSync works like a charm with my GTX 1070. 144Hz with high framerates at 1080p is a glory to behold. The simple thing of smooth scrolling looks so much better than 60Hz. It's also blindingly bright. If you are after brightness, you hit the gold mine. I have to turn ot down to 30% so I don't go blind. Heh.

The built in speakers are terrible though. Built in speakers for TVs/monitors are never great, but these might be the worst I've ever heard. They sound like 90's budget laptop speakers. My speaker system died so I had to rely on them for a while. Good god. Get external speakers/headphones.

Even with the drawbacks, it's worth it. I'll update my review if it dies or if anything changes.

I cannot believe no one is raving about this monitor?!... this monitor is magnificent quality and if you're choosing not to purchase due to the non height adjustable mount, then you're definitely missing out. You can purchase a vesa mount for it if need be. These specs on this monitor(IPS/HDR400/1msResponse/144hzRefreshRate)are sweet. This Acer VG 271 144hz monitor worked perfectly out of the box and puts my non IPS 144hz monitor to shame.

I would recommend this to anyone who can take advantage of the high refresh rate.
Furthermore, the picture quality beat my HP monitor which has a million to one contrast ratio. Best monitor for price in its class by far.

I recently bought a PS4 pro to pair with my Xbox One X and figured it was time to get a 4K to take full advantage of it. I am used to my 1440P Alienware Ultrawide with my PC so my expectations that a monitor would compare was low.

I'm not going to lie, I was thoroughly surprised with the overall quality of this monitor. With IPS, I expect a little backlight bleed and my new monitor has absolutely none. The colors are great, it looks sleek, it's well built and overall deserves a high 5 out of 5 stars.

The only con on this, is that the speakers are bad but it does have a headphone jack so you can easily get away with external speakers.

The Acer VG271U is a wonderful monitor for the price, it has all the guts you need to do so elegantly. The contrast is fantastic and the brightness is good as well! The stand that comes with the monitor however is really not worth it's own time and I reccomend buying a VESA mount that can hold it's own against wobble. I would definayely purchase this product again if my desk had more room to handle it.

I'm using it for my ps4.. usually for Fortnite

Its very good .. everything is good
But since I used to play on a 4K monitor.. I'm a bit uncomfortable

The most important thing to know that if you're a PC player you have to know your video card, is it Nvidia or AMD ? Because if it's Nvidia like most people. I don't recommend you to get it because its FreeSync (in this case you buy a G-sync monitor) but if it is AMD it's the perfect for you

Just an amazing monitor for the price. It’s honestly unbelievable! You get a name brand monitor, amazing color, 1080HD, 144hz, with a beautiful picture for a very reasonable price. One of my favorite little features is the buttons on the back. I don’t think I’ve ever had buttons that were easy to use on a monitor, but these are! The best one is an almost joystick like button that makes navigating the menus a breeze if you want to change settings.

I know its a bit premature, because I just got and connected it but so far its great.
No dead pixels or damages of any kind.
Wish ACER packaged a DP cable though, as when purchasing a 144Hz monitor, its a no brainer that you are aiming for the 144Hz.. and the DP is the only way to achieve the 144Hz.

The other complaints like a flimsy stand and non tilting don't affect me as it will be mounted to the wall anyway.

I've had a number of monitors over the years. When I found this one on sale, I jumped on it. Couldn't be much happier with it. My only complaint is that when waking it up, it takes a little too long. Contrast levels are good, making the blacks deep. The fast refresh rate is a plus. And on and on....
