The short: The MSI Trident X is a state of the art gaming pc, it’s a powerful computer that can run nearly any game at its max settings, it’s definitely future proof. It’s a plug and play pc and doesn’t require any PC building. The software is unfortunately very disappointing and makes the PC so much less powerful, all in all would recommend!

The good: The Pc is very powerful with its amazing Intel Core i7 and RTX2070, nearly all games work at its absolute max settings, Physically the pc is sturdy and rather small, still bigger then the other Trident series computers. The PC comes shipped with a regular side panel, however in also comes shipped with a Glass side panel which I’d definitely recommend to install. Installing or removing the side panel is very simple. The pc has RGB on both the front, top and the right side. It comes with more then enough USB ports both 2.0 and 3.0. It also has a convenient USB-C Port on the front of the Pc (good for future use). The pc is really quiet! And I mean really quiet I couldn’t hear it at all during the whole setup progress, in fact I thought it arrived dead when I tried to set it up because simply no fans were spinning nor did I hear a single noise (I ended up having a faulty HDMI cable). Now the setup progress it self explanatory and works well, MSI includes its own software upon the first boot-up more on this later. The pc comes with its own stand and doesn’t require much maintenance in the long run. I’d say anyone could use this pc with some minor tech knowledge. And yes the processor does come with thermal paste of course, adding another SSD or such is easy, however it’s quite tricky to get all the cables out of the way when plugging you’re new HDD or SSD in. I’d suggest watching MSI their video guides when doing this.

The bad: The pc comes with its own pre-installed apps and software, their software “Dragoncenter” is very buggy and seems to work based on luck, it has major flaws and is very laggy. It comes with a bunch of customization options which I wouldn’t change if you don’t have the proper knowledge. The software allows you to control the RGB lights using “MysticLight” however the front RGB’s seem to have different color contrasts making the front RGB look rather weird. Dragoncenter has an option that allows you to put the pc in gaming mode which to my experience doesn’t do much besides making the fans a lot louder. (No significant FPS increase or performance increase). The OC mode seems to work sometimes and does boost the pc a lot. When installing new updates or software using Dragoncenter there are some MAJOR problems regarding internet connectivity, the software states that it doesn’t have any connection to the internet whilst after having tested numerous WiFi connections I surely was connected, I was stuck and couldn’t install any updates, when having re-installed the software the same problems occurred. The software affects the performance of the PC significantly and also changes the you’re monitor settings. (For as of July 2019 I’d advise you to not use the software). I’m hoping this is just an issue with this PC in particular. Now as far as support goes I wouldn’t even try, contacting MSI is very, very and I can’t say it enough very hard. When calling them expect a long long waiting time, when e-mailing them well they didn’t reply, when sending in a support ticket after having registered the PC with its warranty (which takes a while) I still did not get any reply about my software-related issues. Again I’m hoping this is just for me.

Summary: It’s a good PC, if you’re a gamer and need the maximum performance this a good option, if you’re someone who makes a lot of online content and required heavy rendering, get a more powerful configuration. It’s a plug and play PC and it does what it’s supposed to do. Unfortunately the software is just not there yet with an outdated design and laggy, non functioning interface. However despite these flaws I’d definitely All in all recommend the MSI Trident X!

Received a huge box with a lot of padding. PC was in perfect condition. Plugged up, updated, and it has ran perfectly since then. Very fast for gaming but I also work on it and it can handle any of my CPU heavy programs as well. For the specs, size, price, quality, I couldn't find a better machine or even a comparable one without the headache of building...

This computer looks great takes up little space and is quite fast. Hooked up to my 4K 65" Samsung tv and it works great. I am using a logitech wireless keyboard and mouse. I connected the 7.1 sound with a toslink cable to my Pioneer elite 9 channel receiver and the sound is incredible. Definitely recommend this computer if you want a system that will not be obsolescent in a few years.

Had this system for 4 months now and no regrets whatsoever. Runs very quiet (depending on activity of course) and MSI is keeping up with regular firmware updates.
Nice RGB which can be controlled by software.

I had to send it back because they didn't have the M.2 ssd with it, but it's pretty good.

Great value for components

Love it. So powerful, sleek, and compact. (I removed the metal logo sticker on my glass panel, because I’m not big on flashy branding. Came off with a little work and some rubbing alcohol to clean up the residue.)

So before I bought this I had a gaming laptop, After switching I can see why people say don't get a gaming laptop. This msi Trident x can handle legit anything.. Played witcher 3 ultra settings perfectly fine. Gta ultra again perfectly fine. SHES A BEAST! well worth the money.

I just got my pc today it looks so awesome!
